Mavs offense grabs win, and take 3-2 Finals lead over the Heat

Dirk Nowitzki has another A game performance with 29 points and leads the Mavericks to one win away from being NBA Champs.  LeBron James recorded a Triple Double with 17 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists though it was for not as the Heat need to win back to back games at home to win the title.  “I could have made a couple more plays for my team…But all it’s about is a win or a loss,” said LeBron.

Bad news for the Heat as Dwayne Wade collided with Mavs Forward Brian Cardinal and was said to have a left hip contusion.  Wade returned to the game, but appeared to be limping at various points after.  “I don’t talk about injuries…It was unfortunate I had to leave the game, but I came back and finished it” said Wade; he finished with 23 points.

Both teams shot very well from the field, Mavs 56% and the Heat shot 53%.  The true tale behind the numbers was how Dallas was able to hit the 3 and shot just over 68% from 3.

Big game 6 coming up next in Miami; Dallas needs to win one of the next two games to be world Champs.

Game 6 in Miami this Sunday @ 7pm on WDAY/WDAZ.

If the Mavericks win and Dirk is MVP, do you consider him a Hall of Famer?

Mavs win Back and Forth Thriller to tie Finals at 2

Another down to the wire game, which had 15 ties and 12 lead changes as the Dallas Mavericks tie the series at 2 a piece.  Mavericks Forward Dirk Nowitzki battled a 101 degree fever to score 21 points, 10 of which were in the fourth quarter and in a clutch moment late in the game he drove to the hoop and made a tough basket over Udonis Haslem and Dwayne Wade to help secure the victory.  “This is the Finals.  You’re going to leave it out there…You have to go out there and compete and try your best for your team, so that’s what I did,” said Nowitzki.

This game more then the previous 3 games, the Mavericks supporting cast helped out Dirk immensely as Jason Terry had 17 points, Shawn “The Matrix” Marion scored 16 and Tyson Chandler had 13 points and 16 rebounds.

For the Heat Dwayne Wade scored 32 points and continued his dominance over Jason Kidd, though Wade fumbled the ball in the with seconds left in the game and missed out on a shot attempt.  Chris Bosh had a solid game and scored 24 points.  LeBron James had a postseason low 8 points and went 3 for 11 from the field and was the first time in 434 consecutive games James didn’t score in double figures.  James’ teams are 0-8 in the playoffs when he scores less than 15 points.

Game 5 is this Thursday in Dallas @ 8pm on WDAY/WDAZ.  Pregame @ 7:30pm and Jimmy Kimmel Game Night at 7pm.

Who is your Finals MVP thus far?

Heat Dunk their way past Mavs in NBA Finals Game 3!

Finals Game 3 ended with Dallas Mavericks Forward/Center Dirk Nowitzki’s final seconds Jumper, which was defended very well by Miami Heat Forward Udonis Haslem, but the basket was no good and Miami now takes a 2-1 lead in the NBA Finals.

“That’s a make-able shot, but ‘UD’ (Udonis Haslem) did a great job of keeping his chest in front of him and forcing him into a fade-away.” ~ Heat Head Coach Erik Spoelstra

Miami had 8 dunks, and were clearly in “attack mode” after suffering a loss in game 2 when the Mavs had one of the best comeback wins in NBA Finals history.

Dwayne Wade put up another fantastic performance with 29 points and 11 rebounds.  Lebron James chipped in with 17 and 9 assists.  Nowitzki lead the Mavericks with 34 points and 11 rebounds.

Game 4 in Dallas is on WDAY/WDAZ @ 8pm, pregame starts at 7:30pm and don’t forget to catch Jimmy Kimmel Game night at 7pm.
